Dr Jason Alexandra is a research fellow at the ANU Institute for Water Futures and the ANU Institute for Climate, Energy and Disaster Solutions where he focuses on governance and climate adaptation.

He has 30 years of experience working at intersections of research, policy and practice in conservation and natural resources management. As a Senior Executive at the Murray Darling Basin Commission and the MDB Authority, he had responsibility for natural resource management programs including native fish, ecological assessments, risks and climate R&D. Jason’s work as consultant spans many aspects of natural resources management research and policy.

Jason’s policy and research work is grounded in practical and business experience in agriculture, forestry and horticulture. In 1989 Jason was awarded the inaugural Banksia Award for environmental achievement for his work in promoting revegetation through the Victorian Tree-crop Nursery.
