With the aim to attract and support Indigenous students with an interest in water, we established the Indigenous Scholars Program (ISP).  The ISP upholds the IWF’s commitment to co-production of knowledge with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, as well as ongoing engagement and mutual capacity building through research.​

As part of the program, the IWF supports an Indigenous Honours Scholarship to assist Indigenous students to pursue an Honours year focusing on water related research. ​

The Award includes a stipend of $10,000 plus additional benefits such as provision for field work travel and the ability to apply to a cultural consideration fund.​
