Indigenous scholars program
Supporting scholars to amplify Indigenous voices in water policy, management and planning.
With the aim to attract and support Indigenous students with an interest in water, we established the Indigenous Scholars Program (ISP). The ISP upholds the IWF’s commitment to co-production of knowledge with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, as well as ongoing engagement and mutual capacity building through research.
As part of the program, the IWF supports an Indigenous Honours Scholarship to assist Indigenous students to pursue an Honours year focusing on water related research.
The Award includes a stipend of $10,000 plus additional benefits such as provision for field work travel and the ability to apply to a cultural consideration fund.
