Overseas PhD Opportunity: INITIATE for PhD
Applications to participate in the 2025 cohort of the INITIATE for PhD program will open soon.
Launched in 2024, INITIATE for PhD is an international, intercultural and interdisciplinary network of PhD candidates working on water related issues.
Last November, IWF PhD candidates Amy Wardrop and Carla Alexandra travelled to Ben Guerir, Morocco to participate in the newly established program.
They participated in a week of workshops, field visits and lectures, meeting PhD candidates and academics from 17 different countries. The exchange will continue for the next 18 months, including both in-person and online meet ups and collaborations.
INITIATE for PhD is a collaboration between IWF and 12 participating universities. The program aims to provide the PhD candidates with exposure to different ideas and perspectives that will assist their PhD journey. In the long term, the program aims to build a robust network of future water practitioners and researchers who will work together to tackle complex and pressing global water issues in the years to come.
The 2025 program will be held in Montpellier, France in October. Up to two PhD candidates from ANU who are working on water related issues will be eligible to attend. If you are interested in learning more, join the information session on Tuesday 6 March at the School of Cybernetics. RSVP to Vivienne Seedsman.
